Sounds of sadness

When sorry isn’t enough
The sorrow, deep and rough
Alienated from the one you love
Life is always a learning curve
Destruction of the soul
Foul, like a trodden sole

When the music in me
Bereft of sound
I now long for home
Let my tears carry me home
And I cry the cry of my cradle
The pain, I cannot handle

When all I have is hope
With which I am to cope
And good is not so good
But sullen and sad

Now the sun is risen
In the city of my mind
And brightens this sullenness
Decimating, this camouflaged sadness

Excellent expression. I felt yours AND mine-- it's universal in our humanity-- uness your deadwood and feel nothing at all. I have missed reading poetry...and writing too, for that matter. Anyway, to continue my ramble, discernment of what I can and can not change, state of mind- full, empty, positive,negative.... I would go to work so sad inside, but for the sake of others- fake a smile...and in a little while the fake smile transformed into an authentic one. State of mind.
