Nothing Particularly Interesting Here
Seen from a ship one thousand miles off,The earth is just a thing adrift in space.
Its surface, like those of the other planets,
Writhes. The motion's meaningless.
It isn't worth your time, or mine, to note
The tumult taking place. Perhaps, someday,
We'll send down probes to transmit data
Specialists can use to learn what's going on.
I doubt that I'll read their reports. This earth
Has no significance. Let's turn the ship
Toward home.
