Dark Clouds on the Horizon

It's going to turn out badly. Almost anyone
Can envision that, except for my old roommate,
Ken. He hit the jackpot, wrote some sort
Of program people use for something. Now,
He's famous and he's rich. At root, he's what
He's always been: a shy and boring, homely
Guy who had no girlfriends in school, and didn't
As he built his business. Suddenly, Colleen
Appeared, first as office manager, but paramour
Before too long. Platinum blonde and dressed
To slay in slinky black, she hangs on him,
But seems, as that old saying goes, to find
That diamonds make good friends, while Ken
Just pays her bills, and what good can come out
Of this? Will she take Ken for all she can
And leave? Will she hold onto him and try
To make him what he's not? Will I curb my
Tongue or speak and make a bigger mess of things,
Either breaking poor Ken's heart or losing
My old friend?
