Their stay in Quebec by AnnWood

On Saturday morning, after breakfast, they went for a walk on the streets of Quebec. They found that the city is beautiful and hospitable and there are many attractions to visit. Frontenac Palace, Royal Square, and the year-round Christmas shop are a must-visit. And if you like nature, visit the Montmorency Falls, which are 88 meters higher than Niagara. They asked a few random people around what else they could see in Quebec and the surrounding area? One woman told them if they had time to go and visit Lake Masawipi - Quebec comfort, just north of the border 180km by car. After parting with the woman, they decided to visit the Basilica of Saint-Anne-de-Boapere. They looked at her with admiration and love. They stopped to pray in front of the altar of St. Anne. Then they decided to visit another famous Catholic basilica, the Cathedral of Notre Dame de Quebec. They chose to use public transport and the subway, as it would be difficult for them to find large parking lots in the city. They examined the icons and the church, prayed again, and after nearly an hour, left the cathedral. They went to the nearby shopping center to walk around the shops and have lunch at the bistro on the corner of the mall. After lunch, they decided to go to the movies. They would watch Harry Potter. After the cinema, they decided to go and shop in the hypermarket near the parking lot where they stopped. In the evening, they would make spaghetti carbonara and spring salad. In the hypermarket, they took bread, sandwiches for sandwiches, mayonnaise, mustard, maple syrup, honey, some natural juices, lemons and detergents, washing powder, flavoring, and fabric softener. They also took several DVDs, some children's books and magazines from the children section. As well as for them; books, magazines, and crossword. From the toy stand, they took a few puzzles, a Lego constructor, Uno cards, and a few more party games. It was past six in the evening when they returned. Layla began to prepare dinner while the other women unpacked their shopping bags. When dinner was ready in half an hour, they dined in the living room while watching the news on TV. After dinner, Alex washed the dishes, and Margaret bathed the children and put them to bed. Then the four women sat down to watch a movie and drank wine. Michelle made popcorn in the microwave and brought a jug of homemade lemonade. When the movie ended at eleven, you went to bed.

Today, after breakfast, they will go to Lake Masauipi, where they will stay for a few days. Margaret went to the store to get a mosquito and insect spray. When she returned, they prepared for the journey. The Margaret children were playing in the room, and the adults were in the drawing-room. Layla was driving while Alex was working on his laptop; Michelle was reading a book. They drove slowly to enjoy the beautiful view that stretched around them. They stopped twice to take a break to photograph the beautiful nature along the road. When they reached the lake, it was noon. They found a shady spot by the lake where they parked. They took out the table and the chairs in front of the RV stretched a canopy on top of them, installed the mobile kitchen. They set up blankets for the children to play in, took the TV out, and let them listen to the lunchtime news as they cooked lunch. Today they will make roast chicken with potatoes, peas, green beans, beans, and okra in the oven. They decided after lunch to catch some fish for dinner. The children play quietly beside them. Tony asked when are we going to inflate and fill the pool mom Alex? Tomorrow we will boost it, today it is too late, but when we have lunch I will teach you to fish, do you agree? Yes, mom, it will be exciting to catch fish for dinner. Mom, we could call Grandma and Grandpa today, I want to show them what kind of fish we found. Yes, Tony, as long as we catch a fish, we will show it to them, but even if we don't pick it, we will call them again. To their delight, the fish was biting, and they found a lot of fish. The children were very excited about the day's experiences. As promised, Alex called her parents and had a group video chat with Leila, Michelle, and Margaret's parents. They had been talking for more than an hour when a light rain began to fall. They quickly scanned the TV, laptop, and everything else. They cleaned the fish from the scales and entrails, washed it thoroughly. Then Alex put part of it in the freezer and seasoned the other with spices and put it in the fridge to cook the next day. They made an omelet and a salad for dinner. After dinner, they watched movies on YouTube. They stayed up late, and the children played while the adults talked and watched TV. They stay until late at night after they put the kids to bed. It was after one o'clock in the morning when they go to bed.

After a few lovely days from their visit to Lake Masauipi, they go back to Quebec.
These were some of the best days of their lives. The weather was beautiful, and they had all kinds of activities while they were by the pond. They fished collected herbs and berries and hiked by the lake. They visited the nearby villages and towns, took a lot of photos and videos. They didn't want to leave, but they wanted to be able to visit more places while they were in the French part of Canada. On the way, they stopped to take pictures and refuel and refresh themselves. When they reached Quebec, it was noon. They found a parking space and sat down to lunch with sandwiches and mushroom soup. After lunch, they decided to take a walk in the park and go shopping for some things from the nearby market. To their delight, the weather was still helpful and pleasant to walk. The children ran past them as they walked and talked to each other. After shopping at a nearby market, they went home to rest and then had to cook something for dinner. Since it was quite warm, they decided to have grilled fish and potato salad for dinner and to make a fruit salad for dessert. After dinner, they played monopolies and watched a movie on YouTube. They went to bed at eleven, good night everyone until recently.

The next day they slept until about ten o'clock. When they got up outside, the sun was shining, and the birds were singing. They ate princesses for breakfast with minced meat and yellow cheese and drank orange juice. Today they plan to visit La Citadel de Quebec. Rising from the west and looking at the river St. Lawrence, Cap Diamant reaches a height of 100 meters and recognizes a wide and varied panorama. Sitting at the top, this is the fortress of Quebec - a massive fortress, protected by thick walls, fortifications, and ditches, built-in 1832. An active military post, the Citadel is used as a military unit for generals, officers, and service members. As well as the summer residence of the Governor-General of Canada. It is also the headquarters of the 22nd Canadian Regiment, which was formed at the beginning of World War I. It boasts a remarkable record, including action in the Battle of the Catfish and much later in the Korean War. Summer visitors can watch the security change ceremony each morning, and the military museum, housed in a mid-18th-century dust magazine in the southern corner of the Citadel, is open year-round.

At lunchtime, they visit a new Italian pizza shop and get some pizza and salad for their picnic in the park. After that, they go to Fortifications of the national historical site in Quebec.

Over its more than 300-year history, Quebec has come to own a variety of fortifications, all of which can be explored on a one-hour circular walk. The bastions, walls, towers, gates, and countless old cannons show how well the former French colony was protected. Completed in 1832, four and a half miles of defensive fortifications on the western flank of the Old Town were built of granite and sand, the only fortifications of this kind in North America. Numerous weapons are a constant reminder of Quebec's troubled past.

When the family gets back to the car park where they parked their RV, it was almost six o'clock. The children were tired and excited about the walk today. After dinner, they went to bed. Alex, Layla, Margaret, and Michelle played Uno, then watched Gone with the Wind. It was midnight when they went to bed.

It's funny to see "Frontenac Palace", most refer to it as the Château Frontenac. Never heard the other term before :) This again is so detailed... Probably a bit biased coming from me, but Québec is a nice city. I get the sense that Leila and her family also enjoyed it as much :)
