This soft and quiet morning
Flows in hues and feathered gauze
Pastels of misty rainbows forming
Charcoal trees in bas relief
Leafless in hibernation’s thrall
Frame stands of pine in ever leaf
Winter’s greening sentinels
This effortless cursive evolution
From starry night to brilliant day
Brings thoughtful ease of prorogation
To yesterday’s trials and rude display
