''O Muse Divine! How Rare Thou Art,'' a Double Triolet

I.

O Muse divine! how rare thou art;
how sought after you'd always be:
how I searched long with patient heart,
O Muse divine,—how rare thou art!
If you were like a golden cart
that held precious metals for me,
O Muse divine (how rare thou art):
how sought after you'd always be!

II.

How sought after, O Muse divine,
thou art for this: my lilting rhyme;
how for you I yearn for and pine!
How sought after, O Muse divine,
like gold thou art which brightly shines;
for you I'd Mount Olympus climb.
How sought after, O Muse divine,
thou art for this, my lilting rhyme!
