They die all the time, those other women,
Black ones, indigenous, also, Latinas,
Killed by the hundreds, and nobody cares,
But one pretty white woman dying
Makes headlines. Her story's the lead
On the six o'clock news. Was she
Somehow more worthy than all of those
Others? Well, yes. She was pretty
And white.
