Another Day in the Hill Country
I've been informed by the steering
Committee that there are more places
We have to explore, none of which
Cause us to come into contact with
This dessicated, unwelcoming land.
We'll being going, instead, into
“Quaint” little villages to face folksy
Merchants, to buy souvenirs, to trace
Circles on sidewalks, attempting
To choose the least larcenous
Restaurant, the most colorful bar.
We'll spend money. That's what we
Have come here to do. Given
The choice, I'd have them leave without
Me. I'd put on my swimsuit and go
To the pool, to spend time and not money
To soak up the sun, the only thing
I value here.
