Sitting and musing on a rainy day...

Infinite Musings

Common wisdom and and allotted time assure us we are not immortal

We are however in full measure assuredly without a doubt eternal

Conception gestation birth and death are displays of energy

Physical laws confirm that power to be constant for eternity

Our beginnings have no resolution if energy is our common bond

We are and will ever be in some energetic context without abandon

Therefore I wonder if whether our selves in human sense

On death continue as energy in an ever present tense

I then suggest that our actions here and now may forever

Effect our karma ad infinitum until we finally altogether

Reach a state of wholeness devoid of all emotions extraneous

To once more be pure energy a formless undefinable “us”

This is a fine meditation on what I often flippantly refer to as "42" (Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe and Everything.)
I have a suspicion that the pure energy is a definable 'me' - and 'I' can manifest in and through whatever form 'I' wish. What will eventually be left behind is the ego (at least!) :)

I believe that you're right, Joe. The matter and energy which are us will persist. They always have been and always will be. The charade of consciousness, on the other hand, is transitory.
