My girl
You came to me by chance,
bequeathed to me by my best living friend
who could not protect you any more
since he was leaving for a voluntary exile,
so he gave his responsibility for you to me,
and that gave me no choice but to accept it.
Thus I lost his partnership but acquired yours instead,
and it has been surprisingly rewarding
as I learned so much from you and you from me.
It was a win-win teamwork all the way,
we never tired of each other but always carried on
enriching and developing each other,
you with your experience and education,
and myself with all my faculties of innovation.
Let it just go on like this, as far as possible
to our content, delight and growth of mind and spirit.
