GRANDDAD JOE'S WAR (Additans)

Grandad Jos war were battle'a of survival

Granddad Jo saw no glory
At all in the war, no glory's

In the dead that lay on

The Battlefields
He saw the waist of a generation
True he were a veteran after each battle
Hardcore for the battalion, that were sent

Into further battles, yet more dead, lay upon the field
At the end of THAT WAR, Granddad finally, got home
Granddad, Jo, a suvilvor, his verteran days over, at long last!

Grandad Jo, did come back home to his wife and daughter till 1919.
After being in a French hospital, he had an operation to remove half
his lung. ' At least I survived, I came back, to my wife and daughter. His daughter
Were, seven, when Grandad Jo, went off to war.
