A WRITER'S WORK

A writer's writes of what the writer is thinking
The reader may read the work rather differently
Interprets the work rather differently than what
The writer had in mind

This could be seen as a misinterpreting - misunderstanding
Or just finding what the reader needs

A relevant example is Kafka's The Trial
Kafka, wrote The Trial, as a comedy-satire

A comment on his time then
His readers and his friends saw The Trial
As well as deadly serious - comments on the times

I reckon that interpretation is right for the times - NOW!

Right on! In my view, the poem belongs to the reader, as soon as it is published somewhere. The writer's idea about the poem is just one of the many views. And any reader's interpretation is just as viable as the writer's, or even more!
