Well, Then
It wasn't quite the means of "catching up" that I'd expected.
We've been living far apart for years, but she was back
In town. She called. I ought to visit her. I did. I found
Her hotel room, and she suggested that we go to dinner,
But not right away. "Let's go soak downstairs, instead."
"I don't have my swimsuit." "That's okay. I do. Just wear
A towel." So, we went, and sat and soaked, and quickly
Found the sassy ease which we'd enjoyed those years ago.
Then, suddenly, she leaned toward me and pulled
The towel I'd been wearing, tossing it outside the tub,
And, afterward, removed her top and bottom, flinging
Them aside, and then she climbed onto my lap. I need
Not narrate what came next. We had a very pleasant time,
But, as I mentioned at the start, an unexpected one.
