Remembering 9/11
We whine, as bullies tend to do when someone
They have victimized abruptly turns and hits
Them back. They brought our gleaming towers
Down. They sent a plane into the the very heart
Of our malevolence (five-sided, if you didn't know),
And is there anything we've learned? Oh, no. We
Still assert that we are victims, even as we murder
Innocents around the globe, and fund our little
Brothers, monsters, as they slaughter thousands
With the weapons that we give to them. If Justice
Was to shed her blindfold, she would glare in rage
At us. She'd praise, instead, the so-called terrorists
Who land their feeble blows against the ones
Who torment them: bullies, such as us.
