As the Rain Approaches
Rain's approaching. The valley's obscured. The wife dashes
Out to do some last chores while I sit with my feet up. I've
Been shirking mine, which are calls to find people to fix
Broken things. The septic tank's leaking, the roof needs
Repair; two big, costly jobs which put me out of sorts even
More than I usually am. I'll face them later, after I've shaken
Off fears of looming retirement penury, settling briefly into
A comforting nap.
