Cause for Celebration
I still need to have our downspout replaced,
Still ought to mow the lawn, and the weather's
Not great. It's been unusually cool. I heard
A mouse gnawing things in the basement.
Then again, my immature niece, who seems
To know nothing, who stares at her phone
Throughout each minute of her waking life,
Is leaving at last. She's been here a month.
Shouldn't that happy fact be enough to
Overshadow those other things? Shouldn't
I, for, at least, a few minutes, see something
Good in this day?
