The High Cost of Health Care
Arm stuck, waiting, being tested
In a hospital: just another day for
Someone who has reached my age.
The weather's bad. I'm missing
Work, so I can't say I'm inconvenienced
To be kept for hours here, poked
And pasted, stripped, and laid out,
To be told a few days hence that
I am hobbled by what I'd been told
I had before.
