In response to KJC/Nepenthes Challenge: 'Four Seasons'; Everyone is welcome to add his or her season/ seasons to it, from their part of the world...

Summer Rain (KJC/Nepenthes Challenge)

In my part of the Earth,
Summer scorches every leaf,
The hot air rises off the asphalt,
creating mirages on days bleak,
The crops lie ripe and girded in sheaves,
Upon the golden-brown-wheat-fields...

The Koel sings her songs of longing,
The peacock hoots in the green fields,
When the mangoes become red and juicy,
And Monsoon clouds gather over the heath...

And when the very first showers of rain,
Kiss the parched earth's lips in refrain,
My heart takes a leap,
and dances in the rain...

And the gentle raindrops drip, blithe
In their playful exuberance... Spreading
Wafting fragrance and cheer. Unbidden
Smiles widening on every face, singing
Lusty voices calling my dancing heart to
Come play with them... Once more, be lithe
And young....
Summer rains give way to autumn hail...
Oh dusky mellowness! Oh Golden Autumn!
That I should be a browned maple leaf
Singing my crackling song and dancing
Upon the spirited wings of the wind! To
Travel upon flights no longer fancies! To
Find a resting place with others of my
Kind, and become soil and grow again as
A spring-time shoot... Ah! Glorious Autumn!
And Ice-Maiden! Oh regal, supreme Winter!
Overawe the earth in your splendor and majesty!
Blankets of white... Coverlets of warm snow
On every sleeping head laid... The world is now
A howling wilderness... While gallant winter
Fights to keep us safe from storms as we sleep...
As the old year gives way to the new, time flies...
And beloved Spring-child arrives...
Bringing joy of new life, freshness of spirit,
Bringing alive the world from a landscape of spotless
White... As green and brown and animal shades
Begin to take over a pristine world... After all
Spring is but the celebration of new life.
Comely springs bubble in gay woods as little
Creatures come to life... And spring gives way to
Summer... with showers of rain... and sunshine.

Got carried away there... lolol... Its a beautiful write Z! I love the rains!

Where I am still is summer
The scorching heat do burn and pain
Cannot bear the humidity
Children run and never come out to play
I cry when look around
No kids about for me to see
Until the dusk has settled once again
Then I hear thier Joyful Screams
There is no rain in this summer
No rain in Dubai Summer!

Wonderful poem Zoya, Very touching and very ture.

Where I live, out in the west you see
The Summer rays are a guarantee
Waters the blessing and the reason why
Children dance when it falls from the sky
The sun puts on a show and the flowers grow
Even though the weakned plants were strong long ago
People survive the desert days
The need to survive sets their hearts ablaze
A thriving town alive in the sand
A maricle achieved by god's hand
Many may think its not a place to roam
But to my loving family, we call it home

I loved it very much, very decriptive and It made me think. Good Job!!!

Winter's snowy touch upon once auburn
Mane, but autumn's golden vista in sparkling
Eyes remain... summer's mellifluous colors
Blend and fall as tears of benediction from a
Heart that heard the ultimate call
Of love. Spring reigns deep beneath the
Mantle of satiny wrappings of sheer cloth
Where littany of gentle blossoms and
Fragile scents bedecks the spirit
Of a life of seasons, well-lived.

I love this exchange of verses...
Sunshine and warm hugs,
ŠArti

Note:Though this came to me in a PM, as response to my verse, on her comment on another peom, ' Dreams of Spring', It is so perfect, for this challenge I am posting it here for Arti.
