Lizzy Murphy

Lizzy Murphy.
Lizzy was a girl wise beyond her years
Lizzy knew all about wasted tears
Lizzy was my friend, my only friend
I shall always love Lizzy Murphy

Lizzy was child, a ghetto child
Lizzy grew up and she grew up wild
She slept in an orange box till she was five
Nobody messed with Lizzy Murphy

Lizzy left home at twelve years old
Lizzy stabbed her father because he was bold
Everyone said Lizzy was far too cold
Nobody loved Lizzy Murphy

Lizzy had a dream a wish to pan
Lizzy dreamed to one day meet a man
Someone who would love her as best he can
Life was very cruel to Lizzy Murphy

Lizzy met a guy who was sweet and nice
Lizzy learned of love and she paid the price
Lizzy sold her body on the streets of vice
Love's illusion lost to Lizzy Murphy

Lizzy drifted in and out of jail
Lizzy knew all about the animal male
Every love she ever knew was destined to fail
No more glasses tinted rose for Lizzy Murphy

Lizzy met a guy who was on the run
Lizzy was aware that he carried a gun
But he spoke with honesty and was a lot of fun
True love at last would come to Lizzy Murphy

Lizzy and I set up home
Lizzy would never ever again be alone
Two kindred spirits found a love never known
I shall always love Lizzy Murphy.
