hold me

walking a thin line
hair undone

the waterfront
miles away
and still

you are waiting

my hardened mind
set a ease

and I beg of you
to lay your body
over me

protecting
the scream
that picks parts of me

in a time of lost shadows

I beg of you
as the day succumbs to darkness
