RESPONSIBILITY

No pressure through this guiding light.
Hit 'n' run to avoid the fight.
Responsibility holds you down.
Suffocates you 'til you drown.

This life is such a precious bore.
Do this, do that, and yes once more.
Can't find your way in, and there's no way out.
Your thoughts are paved with useless doubt.

But if you were to need a friend,
to lick your wounds, to make them mend,
responsibilities you should tend,
it's worth it in the end.

Three differing views in each verse here Daybreaker, all valid and all necessary, we poets are the lucky ones, we have colour in our minds 24/7. Responsibility is a heavy load but as your poem so beautifully demonstrates, it gets easier and the rewards are fathomless. Believe me. Smiling at you, Tai
