Most of my life, being afraid kept me from so much, I have finally figured out, that life is too short. So I try make it a practice to cast the fear to the wind, and for a moment or two everyday...swing from a "chandelier"..as only a blueyedsoul can do

Swinging from the Chandelier

I
want
to take
a running leap
across the sky
hold my breath
and grab hold of
life's crystal chandelier
and swing unguarded
through the room
while diamond, glimmering
lights rain down
upon my face and closing my eyes
gulping deep breaths of life
feel the sway
of pendulum-like flight
and a bottomless girlie giggle
floats a melody of charm
and casting all fear
to the earth beneath me
boldly hook my ankle
to the golden form
as I swing breathlessly
as never before
swishing back and forth
with no regrets
wildly brave
before I die
then open my eyes
stretch my arms
and just pretend
that I
can
fly

This has a lilting playful quality to it,yet it has that underlying resolve to do away with fear, apprehession and fright to rise above the sundry.
A very orignal and imaginative piece...
Art of writing poetry... Thanks blue, for sharing this.

I can truely imagine myself watching you swing, the smile on your face and hearing your girlie giggle. Another fine piece of work!
