fame, wealth, privileged lives
are simultaneously fictional and real
electronic media provides a big lamp
for endless droves of moths to flap at
futile repetitions of wreaths drabby plastic accolades
to lay upon the altars of this shoddy ersatz Olympus
the 21st Century, the undreamt of progress
envisioned in times past, in pass times
Look now,
Dirty seamy wars waged in questionable circumstance
Orwellian socieities Machivellian governments
all the while masses of populace muddle about
in the murk of insidious commercialism
while cosmic time blinks a lash
until suddenly poof ala shazam
bye-bye...
