MAYBE TIME WILL TELL?

How come we are never satisfied?
In spite of everything we've tried?
And we never learn from our deeds!
Listen to the victims pleads!

Heavens burn and I've lost my way.
I ran, run, run, I cannot stay.
Leave it all behind and repress it fast.
No wonder that nothing never ever lasts.

The children watch with worried eyes.
Oh yes, they see through your weary lies!
They do what you do, not what you say.
That's why we've all become this way.

A spiral of acid is growing in our yard.
We've all become cynical, egocentric and hard.
What can we do to make each other well?
I really don't know, maybe time will tell?
