made of yesterday

and the feel of you
touched in a darkness
life in a moment of time

waste space in between
us a trace of life
as the day shields hurt

me an epiphany to you
letting life begin once more

and your guards harsh and grey
in a watch tower made of yesterday

Wow: She an epiphany, he, a guarded tower... A rough road lies ahead... Is the first word of line 5 supposed to be "was"? Great to see you resurface on the bay!

powerful and strong verse, letting go is always hard and always tinged with pain and regret. As I read this I feel the determination and the slaking off of bad times and reaching out to the future

oh the metaphors are outstanding delivering a poignant realization of how the past remains in the present and into the future. The guarding of the heart is the direct result of having it broken and then mended. Kathy
