Singled out
from every corner
Loves,
anguish captures
every mourner
prevailing slaps
chap the cheeks
when intrusions lie
and suffer the week
Hopeful though
when lust comes smiling
with curled lips
and thoughts beguiling
Trust is soon lost
forgotten
when love becomes
something rotten
Haste to fear
and grasp your heart
a lovers kiss
can be
a
deadly
spark
