Chat with Jack

I came home this evening, feeling all alone.
I couldn't reach anybody online or on the phone.
I went into the kitchen, looking for a snack.
Came out with a bottle and had a chat with Jack.

Hello Mr. Daniel, how are you tonight?
Glad to see you here, there's no one else in sight.
You've been a long time friend, you never let me down.
When I have a chat with Jack, I never wear a frown.

Jack and I talk football or baseball, in the spring.
We can talk for hours about most anything.
There's no fussing or cussing, we always get along.
When I chat with Jack, nothing is ever wrong.

Hello Mr. Daniel, how are you tonight?
Glad to see you here, there's no one else in sight.
You've been a long time friend, you never let me down.
When I have a chat with Jack, I never wear a frown.

I don't see Jack often, just every now and then.
Just like a college roommate, we are old friends.
I know he's always there for me, yes, he has my back.
When I ever need a friend, I can chat with Jack.

Hello Mr. Daniel, how are you tonight?
Glad to see you here, there's no one else in sight.
You've been a long time friend, you never let me down.
When I have a chat with Jack, I never wear a frown.
