The is-ness of effortless presence

All that is needed is always here

in this moment

You can always ask yourself

Am I present?

and always your presence is there to

embrace thoughts, feelings, and objects

This constant aware background

that you are

This is-ness of effortless presence

can never be lost and is always here

pure and clear

This describes, for me, what is necessary for the writing of poetry.

To be so self aware, to exam Self, to study "I", doesn't that imply an ego-centric view of life? Is that good?

Your poems always bring me to consider attitudes or views of life which are not natural to me. Which is a good thing. It's good to consider the unconsidered.

Western culture does not encourage examination of Self, it is about submitting to a greater being. The Eastern view of life, which I think your poetry represents, requires a fundamental change of thinking. If taken only in bits and pieces it is dilettantism. It must be lived fully and utterly to be valid, don't you think?
