for Rob
The room is filled with flasks
And beakers, blinking lights
And notes, and things becoming
Other things, but, now, just after
She has passed, he feels a glow
Which can't be measured, feels
His heartbeat racing, though he
Hasn't moved or taken drugs.
The sun seems brighter.
What the hell?
The processes inside the lab
Conform to theory. Most are known,
But this most basic interaction,
Woman meeting with a man,
Has gotten him confused.

Anomaly
Some scientist; he has the coat. The room is filled with flasks
And beakers, blinking lights
And notes, and things becoming
Other things, but, now, just after
She has passed, he feels a glow
Which can't be measured, feels
His heartbeat racing, though he
Hasn't moved or taken drugs.
The sun seems brighter.
What the hell?

But this most basic interaction,

Has gotten him confused.
