Voiles

She lays herself down full bare limbed in the
Heat to dream of half thought meandering
To half thought.
Clear tears drip down from her brow and tickle
As she awaits sunset breeze to ease her.

Here it is.

She is touched with kisses many times in a day
Given in greetings and leavings...
Yet all are received with soft intimacy and
Gladly without startlings.

Slowly she reaches the half awake state
Between her and her real and still feels
The voile brushing her body in gusts
Of there is no lover at her sided with
Gentle strokes needed.. and yet she is remote
From loneliness as the haphazard billows caress.

When the sun is gone and and she stands in
Her usual reflection to stretch herself back...

How delicious it is
To somehow always know.

Lawrence Beck The PoetBay support member heart!
Self-satisfaction expressed without the usual obnoxiousness, a difficult trick. I loved "Here it is."

"Half thought meandering / To half thought" is very evocative . . . what happens in those moments between dreaming and awakening, between remembering what had been and for just a moment thinking what might be again. It only happens when you're alone, because you're alone. There are poems there but I lose them when self-conscious half thoughts become whole and conscious.

Such sensuousness must not go untried, though my manhood would be sorely tested.

Lovely.
