Joy

The sun does things at rise and set
It doesn't do at other times
Raptured luminescence to atone
For the hours in between when
It hoards its humanity to yield
Simple heat light and shadow
Instead of passion

So true, and so well said. Dawn and dusk are about light and shadow, tone and texture, subtle revelation, the elements of art. Daytime reveals too of course, but assaults rather than assuages the senses, leaves nothing to the imagination, each thing distinct and delineated rather than part of a connected conception, the only times I truly feel a part of it.
