I'D RATHER LOVE THAN BE IN LOVE

I'd rather love than be in love

I'd rather have some love me

Than be in love with me

As the opposite of in is out

We can go to sleep in love

Come morning awake out of love

The person we find laying besides us

Is but a stranger the love we had the night

Before had evaporated during the night

When you love some one the love of friendship

Could well last a life time

Ah Ken

I have been in love and have loved - I don't know it is hard to choose, yes, I agree - the love of a good friendship, that love I have for my sons, is priceless to me. Yet, that falling in love - even though, for me, it has hurt a lot, I take that hurt and try and make me love more and I think I do, I value those more in my life - yet I still want that fairy tale. Wrote a poem tonight, which I have posted based on something true, but prompted by your write

This is a wisdom that comes only with age and experience, understanding of what endures and what passes in the night. Still, I wouldn't be who I have become without those nights nor appreciate the years without them now.
