Many years ago
A young man would
Hopefully approach
A young lady
And ask
“May I have this next dance?”
Her reply would usually be
“Yes, thank you”
Years later
Same question
Same reply
Same meanings
But in different vernacular
“You and me
Let’s cut a rug”
Reply
“Yeah daddio
Eight to the bar”
Times and more`s change
Not always for the better
