Why do you neglect me so?
Your approval was all I ever wanted
Please don't torment me no
Your heart so open and yet so tainted
Can't you see how much I've waited?
For you to look me in the eye
And now I cry
Beneath this starry sky
I cry
Guided by angel wings I take flight
Without you I go into the night
Without you I go towards the light
I promise this time
I won't put up a fight

Remember when we were only kids
I marvelled at your strength
Even if the blame was mine
You would stand by my side
I was never your equal
Only your burden
The score will never be even
And I accept your condescending look
Because you want to protect me
You only wish to see me grow stronger
But how can I when I'm going under?
You taught me to stand, you taught me to walk
But what good is all that
If I can't find my way?
