Duncan's Song
A jelly doughnut for your thoughts,From those you brought. You said
You had too much to do. You
Couldn't come, but, now, you have.
I'm pleased you did. I'll clear the
Clutter from the counter, from these
Chairs, my mind. I beg you, sit.
You bring the sun inside a realm
Which had been cool and shadowed.
Soothe me with your sing-song
Chatter. Pare my burdens. Make me
Light. For such gifts, I will gladly
Trade a sweet which isn't mine.
