King
I know more than you think I know.I know my paw could break your arm.
My claws and teeth could shred you
Like the beasts I'd catch out on that
Plain, before those people brought me
Here. I know I'll never leave this place,
And, though you come each day
To feed me, lowing, like a bovine
Mother, you don't see how much
I hate you and those others, monkey faces,
Leering at me through the glass. You'll
Never understand my sorrow. What
I was, was meant to be, I am no longer.
Now a toy, you'll find, one day, I've
Willed my death, and you will
Wonder why.
