Pests

Why I must suffer these hungry creatures whose pestilence serves to drive me so mad!
I would akin them to locusts but they already are
a plague far worse and bad.

to me they're a nuisance, a bother, a pain
they seek to vex me again and again

through earth and brick they dig and scrape
and from my dogs they easily escape

up my tables they scarper and scamp
and to my feeders they cling and they clamp

with nibbles of the food left there
they never spare a thought to share!

the birds they chirp with sorrow filled breasts
as all the food is stolen by pests

I didn't put it there for you
so off you scurry, away now! Shoo!

Thankyou very much :). They're a real pain aren't they?! I like that you can relate this!

F.i.in.e Moods The PoetBay support member heart!
Sorry, this made me laugh a little... the annoyance is so well described I couldn't help feel like I wanted to rip the hair off my head in frustration too! Reminded me of the infestation of fruit flies my children caused one time when they were very young and unaware that leaving food (ie. school lunch) lying around in their closet would be problematic to this extent. Ah fun times. Anyway, I like that you chose to write this in rhymes, and the overall feeling of how the pests affect is very convincing. Nice one :)
