The girl I used to be

My tree will know it all
the tree of my childhood
with the endless branches
and the many whispers

My tree will tell me
just to be
in my tree

My tree remembers
the girl with the wind in her hair
the girl with the crazy laughter
the girl with the fear of living
the girl I used to be
before

In my tree
everything I want to be
will be

In my tree
I can see the world
but no one can see me

My tree remembers me
the girl I used to be
before

Mr.Mist
what a good text...Wish i could go back in time to my childhood tree...it was all so easy then..
But as time goes by, the tree loses its leaves, and only thing left at last, is the inner beauty...thats not bad at all...but it was all easier when the leaves was there...

thnx for making me remember...

Absulutely lovely, the whole idea of making the tree privey to your childhood, your dreams, desires, aspirations, and then the disappointments is so unique.
Just love it!

I find both mystery and magic in this original poem. I love trees... so it is easy for me to embrace your beautiful writing about it.

A very delicate poem about, as I understand it, that special place where we can really be ourselves, where that girl (or boy) inside us can really feel at home
