Fall Guy
I'm the swine, before whom you haveThrown your pearls. Lucky me, and
I'm the pair of eyes which watches
As you sashay down the hall, a pair
Of eyes, now paralyzed, and, possibly,
In paradise, believing, without evidence,
That you have sketched designs on me.
Your husband's working late again,
The kids are safely with your mom,
And I am awed, and odd, but willing,
Nodding as you tell me that your
Daylight life is deadly dull. I buy
You drinks. You're noncommittal,
Lean to kiss. You turn away, and,
At eleven, you are gone, and I,
A swine, consuming pearls, take
The tab and pay it. Then I go.
