Macabre

"I'm so sorry. So, so sorry"

"It's getting late. Time to put her back"

"I wish to dance with her one last time"

"She already dances with death"

"One more moment then, let me look upon her face one last time"

"What's left of it..."

"Still beautiful, even in death. See how the light of the moon kindles her eyes"

"How the maggots and worms dine on her flesh"

"The peaceful embrace, it leaves a smile on her lips. How I loved to see her smile"

"A rictus grin. She has no lips"

"But wait, the pearly sheen of her teeth, not even the Archangel could take them from her"

"Bones are the roots of death. She clings to her grave"

"She doesn't want to leave me, her soul is in two halves"

"She has already left. Her corpse is cold. Even the dress you buried her in has departed from the material world"

"The dress. Oh how she loved it dearly and how I dearly loved to see her in it. But tonight I look on her naked"

"Her skin decays. She is truly naked this night"

"Naked and blooded she entered this world"

"Naked and blooded she departed"

"Yes. I will leave her now"

"She has left you, now it's time for you to do the same"

"The moon has hidden from me, and I see her now. Dead, an empty vessel"

"Put her back"

"I give her back, and leave her to rest"

"Bury her again, a third time"

"A third and last time"

"No more"

"No more"

"Goodbye, my love"

Definitely macabre! But I had to read it to the end.
