10,000

10,000 persistent pursuits
On the endless hunt
for fame it's all in vain

10,000 dives to the deep
To mine the shallow resource
And find the cavity

10,000 climbs of the mountain
A summit with a throne
To sit and gaze below

10,000 desert crossings
Scorched by the flash
No Oasis for the nomads

10,000 fruitless fortunes
All for a labour of love

F.i.in.e Moods The PoetBay support member heart!
This, to me, speaks of trying to be recognized by the general population... and though being recognized by others is a hard endeavor by all means, it doesn't reflect the true talent of the one seeking it out even though come-backs by the general public aren't as as fruitful as hoped, it doesn't mean that it's not a talent that isn't worth it! It's a hard game to break through... thoroughly enjoyed these words here as it makes me see what is at stake for those who seek recognition! Very good :)

There is a love for having accomplished something very difficult for no reward at all but the feeling of having done it. I can relate to that. :-)
