There Are No Noncombatants
They're culpable. Of course they are. They wander through their shopping malls,
Aware of warfare all around, and of the acts
Done in their names, the drone attacks,
The torturing, and, if they give such acts
Much thought, they tell themselves they're
Justified, which means that, when the bomber
Comes, and all the mall is blood and glass,
It's wrong to mourn the "innocents."
We all are culpable.
