A Day of Little Consequence
It started raining after breakfast; strange. The sun was shining all around, but, just
Above, a sullen cloud. We ducked into
A pharmacy, and, soaked, we shivered
As we laughed. We looked at combs
And condoms, magazines, and nostroms
Meant to cure diseases of which we'd
Not heard, and, once that cloud had gone
Away, we went outside, and held each
Other tightly as we stumbled home.
We changed our clothes, then had some
Coffee. Later, when we ate our lunch,
There wasn't any rain.
