Another Pair of Eyes or Something Else for These to See?
Would these faded things take back their colorsIf I brought her here? Would all the trees upon
The bluff go green again, and would their leaves
Flash back and forth from dark to light when
Ruffled by the wind? Would what's become a
Muddled sky reveal the water vapor in it, and
The quickly moving clouds, and would the corn
Across the river ripple, as it used to do, and cats
Stalk birds and turkeys shout, or would this
World remain faded, colorless in aging eyes,
And do I wish to bring her here because
All else is gone?
