Black Hole
Out there, way off beyond the cloudsOf gas and all the scattered stars,
Alone, within the frigid silence,
Something sucks the life from things,
And light. There's nothing there to
See, and what is drawn in briefly
Flashes just before it disappears.
The drug they gave me spirals
In and shrinks to nothing, and
The love I thought I saw in you
Is gone, consumed, and my own
Love, the deadly force, has got
Its grip on you. I sense that you
Will get away, and I'll grow smaller,
Denser still, alone, unseen, submerged
In silence, out beyond the stars.
