Not just to return the favor but because it is deserving . . . William's older poem "Wisteria." It beautifully captures a scene by invoking all the senses, and ends with a challenge to each of us to do no less wherever we are. I had sent this poem on to my daughter at the time, saying here is someone and something we should learn from.

Difficult task, sense there as so many topnotch poems here to choose from, but I nominate ''For My Daughter'', by countryfog. It is beautiful, moving, and expresses a universal gratitude for the things in this world we love the best.
