To the blank page, I say ...:

I take you on like a sister that can keep a secret
one that sits and listens

one that doesn't make a face
when I tell you something different

I saw Casablanca today, the movie
I saw Bogart and the majestic Ingrid Bergman
and the Sam, the one who played very well
on his piano, throughout the whole movie
and it was great!

I sit at my kitchen table
wondering where all of you are
my friends out there
my friends in here
my mother sat beside me earlier
had dinner that I made for us
and she just smiled in joy of my homemade mayonnaise

it was so filled with love

The trick to that is love, and mix it all together
before you let the oil drip down,
works every time

I am watching a movie right now called "Before Midnight"

they have such great dialog, they have so much history

and it takes me back right upfront my day ...
when I miss old loves
when I miss my girl

when I write to try to take me back a few days

when I saw my mother eating great lovely feast I had made for her

I realized
that making her happy
made me happy

and if I can

I want to do that over and over
again,
yes

I like this piece. It is reflective and has a resigned feel of fulfillment to it. Cooking for mum must make you happy :)

Making a meal for someone is probably one of the greatest expressions of love. This is one of my favorites of your poems--it's tender and illustrates beautifully how love of any kind makes both the giver and the recipient happy. It is a giving of oneself.

Great title.

I watched the movie, " Before Sunset" and I loved it,but I would think that, "Before Midnight," might be a little sad. Just a thought.+
I enjoyed your poem. It shows a lot of family love.
