I'll Send You Something from Your Registry
Then as now, you'll think youCaught me in the corner of your
Eye, a presence sensed, not wholly
Seen, but I won't be there as you
Walk toward the altar with your
Dad, to hear you make your vows,
To kiss the groom, to turn and
Take his hand, and, radiant in white,
Retrace your steps. I won't get
Drunk and want a kiss. Oh, I'll
Get drunk, but somewhere else
Where there's no one to see
Me try to bear up with a
Broken heart, and I'll no
Longer be in view, but,
Sometimes, I suspect that,
In the corner of your eye,
You'll sense the one who
Isn't seen, and you'll
Remember moments of
The time you spent with me.
