silent words

a grain of sand

a flicker of light

a whispered sigh

in the dead of night

a nod of head

the ruffled leaf

a breath of air

in quiet grief

lowered flags

burning hills

bending knees

59 kills

silent words

black on white

not enough

to make things right

in the heart

of  humanity

pray, lives the flame

of divine mercy

This is so powerful. The short lines make it read like a drum roll. Wonderful work.

Sensitive and serene, it feels so calm, but has such a strong message.

And I agree with the other comments. You're a

I feel the impact of injustice in this poem in your own soft but poignant style. Great writing.

one trick pony The PoetBay support member heart!
So gently written and so true, your final lines, and so distant.

As gently as your words come down the page, they have an absolutely undeniable certainty. I wish everyone could hear your silent words. Maybe then our better selves would shine.

It's good to see you here again. You've been missed.
