Petals In The Wind.

I see petals in the wind appear
From a cherry tree they fall
To swirl about like tissue
And settle on my wall

So delicate and pink are they
Akin to fairy wings
Perform a ballet on the breeze
As a nearby blackbird sings

The sun shines through the branches
Under a sailors sea of blue
Caressing all it touches
And soaking up the dew

There are colours all around me
Mixed with fragrance in the air
Summer blooms show off their wealth
Natures beauty everywhere

So peaceful I could drift away
Like petals on the breeze
Until one lands upon my nose
And wakes me with a sneeze.

i believe one of the most soothing settings one can find themselves in is nature... how beautiful, alive and full of wonder... i find you captured that feeling it is to be in the middle of natures songs and its light... very serene portrait presented... i like the conclusion, i have to say it made me chuckle a bit... made me think of allergies with the petal landing on the nose and waking you up with a sneeze :) excellent poem... thanks for sharing this, it brought a smile, and the feel of summer my way on this day of yet more grey and rain over here... :f

later... xx

This is such a pleasure to read. I love all the wonderful images and the soft, fragrant feel of this poem. Graham you certainly soothe me with your delightful journeys to places I remember and to places I've only imagined because of your magic words.
